We arrived in Delhi at 4.30 in the morning having had very little sleep on the flight. We got through immigration controls very quickly and 2 people from the tour company were waiting at the exit to greet us. After Petra, the next stop on our grand tour of Jordan was Wadi Rum - the desert. The place we stayed was a big campsite with 75 tents and about 20 rooms. As with all of Jordan this place was quiet - so quiet that we were the only guests there. We had arrived at lunchtime and had nothing planned for the rest of the day. On our journey to Petra we stopped off at a couple of places along the way. Our driver, Ibrahim, took us to Dana first of all which is about 2 hours from Amman. Ibrahim is a very nice man however he speaks very little English so everything is a bit of a mystery tour. We stopped at a deserted cliff edge and Ibrahim pointed at the view and a small town that I assumed was Dana. I don't know any more about this place. Our week back in the UK passed by very quickly. It was nice to see our parents and refresh our rucksacks ready for part 2 of our travels. Our original plan was to leave England on 16th May and to fly to Amman via Bahrain. It was a 22 hour journey from Cusco to Lima but we went with a really good company, Cruz del Sur, so it wasn´t too bad. The area of Lima we were staying in was away from the central downtown and was kind of equivalent to the Sloane Square/Kings Road area of London. There were lots of bars and restaurants, a big park area with a church and two nice big department stores. The problem with our stay in Lima was the hostels.
