Pai
Sorry guys but been quite busy in Pai. we have been here for 4 days and have loved every minute of it. glad we decided to come here instead of trekking out of Chiang Mai. so what have we done here. well white water rafting, trekking, a cooking course and tomorrow get to ride elephants. and have been doing stuff with two people we met on the bus. Marc and Sofia.
White Water rafting.. so it wasn't as extreme as the one in OZ but i think i enjoyed it more in a funny kind of way. well no the rapids weren't that big, but its low season! it was definately more relaxing. the scenery was better and it really felt like we were making our way to one of the remotest villages in the world.was amazing, plus we can chang so.. was the original booze cruise, although only started after we pass the big rapids! we thought it would be wise.
Trekking.. was amazing, hard work but amazing as the pictures show. definately glad we did it here though as us 4 were the only ones on the trek with the two guides. better than been surrounded by tourists in a remote hill tribe kin of take the shine off it somewhat. bit of scary moment when Sofia half feel down th waterfall.
Cooking... One word..amazing. was so cool to learn tradition recipes and to browse the local market. got to try local fruit and learnt how to pick good fruits etc.. at least will be able to cook at uni! will definately be putting it to practice on my return!
Elephant riding..should be amazing we have just booked an hour ride where we get to take the elephants into the river and bath them. heard that they squirt you and throw you into the river. so could be a laugh. then on to Chiang Mai to do a bit of shopping then onwards to Bangkok then Cambodia.
Hope everyone is good, sending a big shout out to everyone!
