So a quick update on whats happening at the moment.... We left the Town of 1770 and headed up the coast towards Airlie beach where we were to commenced our Whitsunday Islands journey. We had initially wanted to spend some time in Cape Hillsborough National Park (http://www.capehillsboroughresort.com.au) but after having arrived there under torrential rain at 19:00 in the evening with only a tent (we didnt have any intention of trying to put the tent up in the rain!) we continued on the road to Airlie Beach (another hour and a half up the road) and decided to spend some more time than we had expected. The evening was pretty awful trying to find somewhere to stay under the rain, in the dark with and everything already booked up. However we finally gave into what can only be described as extortionate prices here in Australia and paid over the odds to have somewhere nice to sleep for the night!

The following morning the sun was shining like mad and our moods improved drastically! We checked in to our tour company for the Whitsunday island sailing trip we had booked back in Rainbow Beach and took a look around the town. Our 2 day, one night boat trip was with Iceberg Sailing (http://www.airliebeach.com/Sailing-adventure/Boats/iceberg.html) and looked amazing! It lived up to all expectations and we enjoyed every minute of the tour. The crew (Jessie and Cam) were wonderful and guided us round the islands with such attention to detail. Their cooking was superb (the best we have eaten so far on our trip in Australia).

Unfortunately, as we had predicted, it poured down with rain as we arrived at Whitehaven Beach- the most famous beach on the islands where when dry, the sand makes an amazing 'poof' noise under your feet as you walk. We didnt unfortunately experience this due to it being wet! Nevertheless, it was one of the most beautiful beaches we had ever seen, even under the rain! The boat in itself was a highlight. A beauty! She sailed around the islands so graciously and the accommodation on board was next to none. In the end we didnt want to get off the boat but we had to, all good things must come to an end.

Cedric is feeling a little sick at the moment due to a cold which he picked up on the boat but seems to be fine when he has drank some wine. We are now in Mission Beach which is also stunningly beautiful and we didnt arrive under the rain this time! We have seen the local wildlife which is endangered http://www.daintreebirdwatching.com.au/packages.html crossing the road in front of us along with her three little chicks and we hope to see some crocodiles soon! As we head up north, the terrain is becoming more and more tropical with lush rainforest bordering on the crashing waves of the ocean. Its an amazing site and one which i dont think we will ever forget in a hurry.

Cependant nous avons finalement renoncé à ce qui peut seulement être décrit comme des prix exorbitants, ici en Australie et payé le prix fort pour avoir un endroit sympa pour dormir la nuit!rx3cbrx3erx3cbrx3eLe lendemain matin, le soleil brillait comme un fou et nos humeurs considérablement améliorée! Nous avons vérifié dans notre agence de voyage pour le voyage Whitsunday voile île, nous avions réservé retour à Rainbow Beach et a pris un coup dx26#39;oeil autour de la ville. Nos deux jours, une nuit de bateau était avec Iceberg Voile (http://www.airliebeach.com/Sailing-adventure/Boats/iceberg.html) et était stupéfiante! Il a vécu à toutes les attentes et nous avons apprécié chaque minute de la tournée. Lx26#39;équipage (Jessie et Cam) ont été merveilleux et nous a guidés autour des îles avec une telle attention aux détails. Le bateau en lui-même a été un moment fort. Une beauté! Elle a navigué autour des îles si gracieusement et lx26#39;hébergement à bord a été presque nulle. Comme nous nous dirigeons vers le nord, le terrain est de plus en plus tropical avec une luxuriante forêt tropicale bordant les vagues de lx26#39;océan.
