Hi there,

We're still having problems with the photo uploader thing so sorry for the lack of updates on that front. We've put a few up but not all the ones we wanted!

We're now in Christchurch and flying to Melbourne tomorrow. Christchurch is really nice- a lot like England (they even have punting on the river Avon!). Since we last wrote, we've been to Milford Sound (on a huge driving day) with some beautiful scenery. We left Te Anau at 6am and drove 2 hours to Milford along very windy roads but seeing some awesome waterfalls and mountains along the way. Our boat cruize along the fiord was really good because it had been raining which meant that all the waterfalls were a bit more impressive (they say they stop after 90 mins of no rain!). We went right out into the Tasman sea and back, and saw a seal colony along the way! We then drove from the west side of the country to the east (!) to stay in the best hostel we stayed in so far. Right on the beach in Porpoise bay (which is as South as we've been!) and we could watch Hector dolphins playing in the waves from our window!

The next morning we drove from bay to bay along the coast looking for Sea Lions- we eventually found one in Cannibal bay, asleep in the sand (big fat lump). That night we stayed in Oamaru to go Penguin hunting. We saw a few of the very rare Yellow Eyed Penguins and then went to watch the tiny Blue Penguins come home from a days feeding (about 150 of them). Very cute and entertaining watching as they tried to make their way across the path in front of a seal!

From there we drove to Christchurch and said goodbye to our pretty little car (very sad!). About to go and check in to our nice hotel that Philippa bought as a birthday present! Looking forward to a little luxury!
