WE LOVED HONG KONG!!!! our hotel room was smaller than my bed is at home, and it took a good half an hour to get up in the lift, but it was clean, close to the sights, and had free wifi so we could skype home and look on facbook for the first time in more than a month! we went on the star ferry, the peak tram, and even caught busses here. the beach was lovely and completely unexpected! we also went to the science museum, which was like eureka, and the space mus...

We had to go back to guilin from yangshuo on the bus, and then we caught the train from guilin to guangzhou. when we arrived there was somebody watering the slippy marble slabs, so i obviously slipped, and then managed to regain balance, only to be thrown off again by my ridiculously heavy rucksack! The hotel in guangzhou was lovely, and it had a tv so we got really lazy and ended up waking up really late and coming round with the tv on! there was a really good...

Yangshuo was lovely! we had to catch our first chinese bus to get there though, which was an experience! the driver didnt seem to understand the rules of overtaking!! it was really touristy here, with touts everywhere trying to get us to go on a bamboo raft down the river, which looked really really unsafe! in the end we gave in though, and it was a really good experience, although a snake came onto the raft while it was moving, which was pretty scarey! we went...

We came to Changsha to break up the train journey to guilin, but it was really nice. we got a good clean hotel, and slept in the bedding for the first time in china, and there was a street full of bars next to it. Changsha was really westernised and set up for tourists, but lacking in any!! we only stayed a couple of days but we went to the museums and saw the park which was really nice.
