SATURDAYChristmas Day in Washington DC and when we awoke (quite late) and looked out our window we could little flurries of snow flakes drifting past the window!!!! Thursday morning saw us up at 5am and getting a taxi to the airport for our flight to Washington DC. There was a big crowd McCarran Airport but a well organised security check  system saw us through in no time and on the tram to our departure gate!We grabbed a coffee and boarded our United Airlines A320, taking off right on time and heading eastwards. United is a "no frills" airline, but the service was excellent with plenty complimentary cool drinks, all sorts ...

Total bloody disappointment! That's the only way to describe how we felt after getting up early, getting our warm clobber on and then phoning the helicopter company to find out our trip to the Grand Canyon had been cancelled due to "severe weather conditions, including zero visibility" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get a full refund but that is no real concillation for losing what was to be a highlight of our trip. We knew the weather would be a bit iffy but to stri...
