May 6 We've made it to Mahlekefane! We arrived on Thursday night, after a crazy ride in the back of a pick-up truck (They call them taxis here; we call them illegal in Canada.) We're back from the mountains...back to in the capital. Today my mother (or my `M`e in Sosotho speak) arrived from Canada. She will spend the next month with us up in Thaba-Tseka (the first place we were here). We are hoping to run a day camp as the students start their winter break next week. It certainly has been awhile since we've had the opportunity to communicate outside of Thaba-Tseka. We spent the last 3-4 weeks in a small city of maybe 5-10 000 people. We rent a house from one of the teachers at the school. It's a small tin-roof hut with electric lighting! We have joined the 20th century. It's is quite nice; we get by quite fine. Hi everybody! We made it finally to Lesotho last night after travelling for 48 hours. We are in Hloste about 2 hours away from Maseru, the capital city. We will be here for few days before we head up to the mountains. Hlotse (aka Leribe) is a city of 20000 people maybe; it's really interesting here.
