Another sleep in today followed by more roaming of the streets, getting lost but not really caring, just taking it easy. The highlight of the day was a gondola ride (very romantic!), well worth the money and a great way to see different parts of the city.

After a good sleep in we woke up feeling much better and much less grumpy! We spent the day just wandering the streets of Venice, got lost, checked out the markets, got lost again, visited San Marco square and climbed the bell tower to take in the views, lost again, ate pasta and the best gelati ever....did I mention we got lost??

After a ten hour overnight bus trip followed by two hours on a train we finally arrived in Venice. We arrived at our hotel around 11am and, exhausted after stuff all sleep on the bus, slept until mid afternoon sometime. Once we awoke, we strolled around for a bit, relaxed for a while in a park, got a bite to eat then went to bed. Early night.

Spent most of the morning trying to figure out how the bloody hell are we going to get to Venice! It wasn't as easy as we had hoped but we eventually sorted it out. After that we had a stroll around the city square before heading home to back our bags ready to catch the overnight bus to Trieste.

Lazy day today. Slept in then went out for lunch to a little place that our hosts strongly recommended. They were spot on to as it was the best food we had eaten since being in the country. We then spent the rest of the day at the beach, before dinner on the water front and a few drinks whilst listening to a blues band belt out a few tunes.
