Since we last blogged we had been eating ice-cream in the very pleasant Cusco plaza de armas and just checked into our hostel, called Loki, a dangerous place. Huacachina, a tiny town, surrounded by high sand dunes as far as the eye can see. There´s an oasis in the centre, some hotels, restuarants and well thats about it. Resourceful locals have set up some sand-dune buggy tours, big meaty trucks drive gringos very fast up and down the dunes. The buggys carry sandboards, look just like snowboards, and the the buggy will drive you up to the top of a dune and you can slide/fall/carve/plummet/roll your way down. Very...

Have spent three days in Lima, shopping for Christmas presents. Tried a Peru mall but didn´t try the Peru mall prices! So headed down the local markets for better variety and cheaper bargains. Walked along the coast line to see the pier and the surfers and felt very European amongst the glass skyscrapers, taxis and fast food places.
