Despite picture...still no elephants! In fact we're getting close to Tiger territory! Anywho..Jaisalmer was goodly, the fort's very impressive, we were shown round by a local guide called Rajish, he was quite good fun, but a tad sexist. We both clearly felt it was time to 'India it up' in the old wardrobe department, myself with a rather fetching purple turban (to protect me from the desert sun of course!) and Cooper now has a lovely pair of what she likes to call 'hammer' pants! (They're just extra baggy in the middle for camel riding!)
Speaking of which, that was how we spent our afternoon! Really good fun although very bumpy in the nether regions when running, but still brilliant time and a lovely sunset sat on the sand dunes before heading back to camp.
We seem to be following about a million Germans (or they're following us?!?!?!?!) they're everywhere! Very peculiar.
Anywho, on to Jodhpur where we stayed one night, we visited yet another v. impressive fort with spectacular views over the 'blue city'. Didn't see much else of Jodhpur, though seemed nice when we were taken to a lurvely restaurant for tea...more gooooood curry!
Note from Cooper at this point - I just want to share with you all a stuuuupid woman overheard today at the restaurant we stopped at for lunch. It was a very nice buffet with lots of different things and this bloody moaning Ozzy woman was asking for 'something non-indian - like a cheese sandwich' !!! I felt like slapping her and telling her to eat up her curry!! We're in India you div!!
Anyhew...rant over...other odd things about India...there are cows everywhere. Literally everywhere, and they don't care if you are trying to drive past them, no matter how much you blare the horn, they just look at you and stay still! Also, pigs, sheep, dogs, camels, goats, monkeys....everywhere!!
We are having fun waving at all the kids who get dead excited to see us, and we have even had our picture taken a couple of times by adults!! It's a bit odd but we just smile away! They all went mad for Nick with his turban on...kept calling him a Maharajah!! Pictures to follow I swear...maybe when we are back in Delhi for the night in a week we will find a decent internet cafe!!
Think that is all for now folks...at the minute it seems like we are doing so much and seeing loads of stuff...it's all very busy so although we are enjoying it we are also starting to look forward to heading down to Kerala next week where the pace of life is meant to be decidedly slooooower....love to all xxx
Juat a quick(ish) final note from Nixon...
Firstly, to heartyen you all a tad, we actually had rain this morning! Kerazy! And secondly the best of news!!! We found Shergar!!!! The bad news is that it's not a geriatric pony, but in fact an Indian town that we passed a sign for, so probably no reward money.
End transmission. Nixon xxx
