After an early breakfast and start we travelled along incredibly straight roads -what did the Romans ever do for Hungary? -through the heart of the farmlands and made it to the Border by 9:10 and went through quite quickly. We did an uneasy moment when asked by the Border control lady for our vehicle registration-the one thing I couldn't find and Colin assured me wouldn't be needed- when we handed her our documents some Czech money fell out, which she thrust back at us; I had visions of us being escorted off for trying to bribe an official! Obviously the theory of shouting loudly at foreigners in your own language works for everyone, as our lady got louder and louder when asking me what nationality we were. Unfortunately it took me a lot of words out of her mouth in order for me to realise what she was asking!
We were in for a shock when we did get through Border control and we found ourselves in Croatia
