Well, we completed our last long ride of our tour today, apart from hitting the M62 on Saturday!, and whilst it was cloudy and cool for the whole journey it was dry after the first 10 minutes or so, so that was positive!
We expected to see far more GB stickers than we did, it was predominantly Dutch cars returning from their holidays.
When we got close to the hotel, Colin parked up and set off on foot just to suss out whether we could park closer. After about 10 minutes, my phone rang, it was Colin, he had found the hotel but he couldn't find his way back to me! Thank goodness for 'What's App' my location!
Ghent has a very picturesque and photogenic centre, another brilliant place to stop over en route.
We had our evening meal in what turned out to be an 'art nouveau' rib house; fantastic decor, huge bottles of wine on the table and a never ending supply of ribs for as long as you had your plate in front of you!!
We got talking to a couple on our right, Mum and grown up son, who asked where we came from and then we chatted about different places we had visited. To our left sat an Italian couple, both very glamorous, Colin wondered afterwards how many breast implants would the 'female' had to have had in order to get 'her' very impressive pair of boobs?- I was just jealous of 'her' complexion which was perfect!
We had splashed out on a plush hotel to complete our tour and were delighted to be told on check in that we had been upgraded to a junior suite! It was the perfect end to our amazing holiday.
