Our journey today was one of the most straightforward we have done In a long time. We are eating up the miles in order to get close to Zeebrugge for our ferry home on Friday.We are staying in Nancy, a place that we have passed signs for on countless journeys up, down and across France.Our hotel is in one of the oldest properties in the town and parts date back to the 15th Century; our room is accessed by an external spiral stone staircase complete with balconies....

We started off our day beneath the towering peaks of the Alps and finished it under the towering canopies of an avenue of giant redwoods. Our journey took us through Zus and Lech as we travelled along the Ahlberg pass, turn after turn gave us stupendous views which were absolutely incredible. Sunday We had a very invigorating walk with Gabi and Mike this morning. When we met them at the lift pass office Gabi asked whether we had our free lift pass from the hotel, when we said we hadn't Colin was dispatched back to enquiry and sure enough he returned with free day passes for us which was brilliant and not only saved us 40 Euros but ensured that I didn't have to walk up any mountains-so I thought!
