We are now in Vientiane which is Laos capital city.
We left yesterday morning from Vang Vieng at 10.30am and caught a bus straight here, it took about 4 hours i think so not too bad! we were quite lucky with our guest house as we found one very quickly and are only paying 30,000 kip per night (about 2 pounds). The room is very basic though , 3 single beds, a light , a window, a fan and a table so its more than suitable.
Today we rented some bikes and went for a ride around the town which was a bit scary! not only did i have to get used to riding a bike again (it has been years since i last got on one) but i also had to get to grips with driving on the wrong side of the road - though if any of you know about my roundabout incidence while driving down to Mums, you will know that i get very confused easily when it comes to driving the right way! There are lots of one way streets here and no left turns, no right turns etc...so it was quite amusing at times, but i stayed at the back and followed everyone else!
We rode up to a temple ( i cant remember the name of it) but it was quite nice, im all maxed out on temples at the moment though, once you have seen one, you have seen them all but still - it had to be seen! After that we rode to a herbal steam sauna and massage place where we stayed for a good few hours, it was really nice and the massage was one of the best that i have had so far - my bones cracked more there than anywhere else i have been!
Tomorrow we are heading off - i am still in two minds about what i am going to do, i can either branch out on my own and go to Vietnam (though i hear it is quite cold there at the moment) or i can continue to go south with the girls - i really cant decide what i want to do yet so i will have to talk it over with the girls when im finished here 0 I will let you know either way when i arrive!
