unfortunately i was rubbish with the blog whilst in Australia i think its because at the time it felt very 'normal' and westernised compared to South East Asia. There was lots of sunbathing, lots of drinking, lots of meeting new people, lots of dorms, lots of boats, loats of beautiful beaches, lots of travelling, lots of sun (not as much as we hoped) lots of snorkeling. Barrier Reef Below

is a rough guide of where we visited throughout OZ.

5th Dec - 10th Dec: Arrived In Cairns & stayed at massive Party & meat market hostel Gilligans for 2 nights. Met Mancunian Heather. Sunbathed by the lagoon. Moved to Global Back Packers along the seafront. (Sounds flash but was exactly like a Prison cell).

Visited the Great Barrier Reef on Paradise Boat (I was in paradise), snorkelled for hours. It was absolutely stunning. One of my best days out in OZ.

Visited Port Douglas and a few other places (I cant for the life of me think of the names) surrounding Cairns.

10th-14th - Stayed in Nomads at Airlie Beach. One of my fave hostels.

Went to the Whit Sunday Islands on Siska Boat. Stayed on boat overnight. drank LOTS of Goon & slept on deck looking at stars.. My faveorate time of my whole OZ experience. Snorkelled again, visited Whitehaven Beach (most beautiful beach i have ever seen)

14th-17th Stayed in Hervey Bay where we stayed at Fraser Roving Back Packers. We got the boat to Fraser Island. Disappointed with Fraser Island. We did a day trip which was very rushed. In hindsight we should have done an overnight stay on the beach. Beautiful Island but wish we could have seen more of it.

17th - 19th Noosa, stayed at Dolphin Backpackers. Quiet few days, went beach, slept in hammock, watched films outside.

19th-20th - Only stayed in Brisbane (Bunk Hostel) for 1 night. Got a great vibe from Brisbane and wish we stayed a little longer.

20th-22nd - Byron Bay.. LOVED it. such a qwirky, lovely feel to the place. So chilled out and was the stereotype of OZ. bus to byron bay, Stayed in Byron Cape Lodge.

22nd-2nd - sydney : Stayed at Wake Up Hostel. Best dorm of the whole trip. Amazing room mates! Spent xmas and New Year in Sydney. Sunburnt festival on Bondi Beach on christmas day & Apartment overlooking the Harbour Bridge for the fireworks. AMAZING! Visited Turanda Zoo. Beach Walk - Coogee to Bondi Beach. Beach days at Bondi & Manly. Lots of walking and exploring. Loved Sydney just ashame it is SO expensive.

2nd Jan-5th Jan - Canberra. Still can't get my head round that Canberra is the capital. Not much to do. Lots of drinking to overcome the boredom.

5th - 15th melbourne.. Stayed at St Kilda Home Backpackers for a few nights. Liked St Kilda. Stayed with Holly for our last week. Day trip to Dandinong and drove the Great Ocean Road on our last day.

16th. After the most amazing 3 1/2 months of our lives it was time to go back to UK. It was a pleasure to share the experience with my bessies Shell and Sarah and couldn't have wished for better travelling buddies. I have learnt so much about different cultures, the world, myself and much much more. We are very lucky to have experienced so much and after visiting the more poverty striken places i have realised how blessed i am with my life.
