Soooooo....... this is our last postcard. Can hardly believe the year is over. It has been an AMAZING experience but we are really excited about coming home and seeing you all!! (And having a long, hot bath!!) Rio is a beautiful city... golden beaches, lush mountains and blue ocean all within a stone's throw of the skyscrapers. We were hoping for sunshine so we could return home with a tan but, unfortunately, since we arrived there has been nothing but cloud - doh! However, we woke this morning to blue skies and made the most of it.... we have been up to see the famous statue of Christ, and later took the cablecar up Sugar Loaf Mountain. The sun was setting and it was stunning. A great finish to an amazing year. We have seen some samba (shake that booty!), drunk a few caipirinhas (yum), checked out the men in tiny speedos on the beach (ooooh!!) and mugged a mugger (don't panic... ask for the full story when you see us!).
