After a quick 1 night stop over in LA we drove into the Nevada desert, through hours of nothing we came over the hill and there in the distance was Las Vegas!
We pulled up to the Luxor, which is a huge pyramid shaped hotel at the bottom of the strip. We dropped our bags in our room and made our way out to enjoy the next few days experiencing the highs and lows of Sin City!
Las Vegas is big, flashy, classy, tacky, sleazy, rich and poor - and we loved it! Walking down the strip you see all the casinos that you have seen countless times in the movies, Ceasers Palace, the Bellagio, Paris, MGM, New York New York...
The Bellagio fountains is something not to miss with amazing shows of the fountains which dance to the loud classical opera music every half hour. It completely blew us away as we watched the display from just outside the lake's wall.
We unfortunately couldnt afford to see any of the shows or take trips up to the canyon but you really cant get bored in Vegas with having so much to do, from gambling, shopping, gambling, walking, eating, gambling and more gambling! Dave had a few games of poker and Claire did some retail therapy after winning a few bucks on the blackjac tables - we were also there to witness the first ever snow fall in 30years!!
