This was the boat on which 82 people, led by Fidel Castro, sailed for seven days from Mexico to Cuba to begin the revolution in 1956 (it's pretty small for that number of people). Che Guevara later described the landing, "it wasn't a disembarkation; it was a shipwreck". They were spotted and attacked by Batista's soldiers and only 12 of them survived.
