The visibility's not great due to smoke in the distance coming from forest fires. Apparently the fires are usually started deliberately by people for one of two reasons, either agricultural (an old belief that burning the grass kills the insects and therefore improves the crops) or malicious/economic (by burning a patch of forest they reduce the value of that land and can then buy it cheaply).
