Today we woke up early, hoping to catch a glimpse of the raj mahal at Sunrise. Unfortunately the sky was over cast so we couldn't create the amazing images you can see on a post card but it came out fine.
The detail that went into making the Taj Mahal is amazing and we enjoyed visiting this magnificent monument. I can see already that the Taj Mahal will be one of my favourite things to see.
We took a walk to the Agra Fort afterwards which was 2 km away. It was a good walk and we arrived at the fort nicely sunburnt and pretty worn out, but that didn't stop us exploring.
The Agra Fort is huge. From looking at the architecture of the Fort you can see that the same person built the Taj Mahal.
We took many pictures of the area. Mandy tried startling a bat by trying to take it's photo but thought better of it. Just to be on the safe side.
We made our way back to the Taj Mahal on foot again and went for lunch atop of a hotel down the road from ours. The food was really good even though it was unbelievably hot. We found our waiters to be quite surprising young. A young boy at the age of 10 maybe, I would guess.
India is VERY different.
We took the rest of the day easy and rested. We realised that we were actually quite burnt and we made use of the restaurant area on the roof terrace.
Our last dinner at the hotel was good. So much food but so tasty too. It still was all just an extra next to our view of the Taj Mahal.
Tomorrow will be an easy day once we get to the train station. Let's see what happens.
