After landing in Hoi An we all got to the hostel, me trying to save money went in a dorm room and the guys and girls in double rooms. We met up again with AJ and her group. She'd already done most of her clothes shopping and scoped out the best taylors. After a little bit of persuasion and the usual Wallbank charm ("aarrgghh please....come on") she grudgingly said she'd show me round Hoi An and give her opinion on the suit. Always better with a second opinion.
The next day, while the others did the whole sightseeing thing, myself, AJ and one of her friends from the group walked around the town for about 4 hours trying to pick a taylors.
Hoi An is the Vietnam that you imagine it to be but with a modern twist. The buildings all have the same wood facias, consettina style wooden doors that open up the entire front. One thing that no-one can miss about Hoi An is the amount of taylors. OMG!!!! There are so many taylors if a street has 50 shop fronts on both sides of the narrow streets then at least 40 of them are taylors. All looking exactly the same apart from the embossed gold lettering above the door.
I decide to ge my suit made at 'Blue Rose', simply because the attractive Vietnamese woman who owned it was really helpful. After a measure up, we spend the next 3 hours picking cloth. Although this is my suit and I can pick absolutely anything, even I was getting tired. The choice is just immense!!!!
