Vegas is A-MAZ-ING.
Our flight in was the bumpiest we've had yet, touch wood. None of the rides we've been on could compare. We did end up wearing our drinks. We shouldn't complain, we got to see the Rockies!
The minute you walk into the arrivals lounge at the airport there are slot machines everywhere. Yes, in the airport!
We're staying at the MGM grand which is pretty awesome. It's enormous, the casino is big and it basically has its own restaurants, shopping centre, theatre, arena, some aquariums, pools, pretty much everything. Our bathroom
Mirror even has a tv in it-Kane's pretty stoked!
The strip is bigger than you think it is. When you hit the street you initially think everything's actually not that far away..half an hour later your only just getting to another hotel you thought was 300 meters away at most. Everything here is larger than life. We've seen the water fountain show at the bellagio (it's a huge amount of water fountains synchronized with music to 30 different songs), and the big volcano explosion at the mirage.
The weather here has been fantastic. It should be in the mid 30's all week. Even had a thunderstorm to watch on our first night.
Smoking is legal everywhere in Nevada, including inside the casino and at a restaurant. Takes a bit of getting use to. The are only two places where smoking is not allowed in Vegas, the trump tower and some other hotel. The trump tower is also the only place you can have pets and every window is covered in 24 carat gold. It is also one of a few hotels that doesn't have a casino (apparently Steve Wynn can't stand Donald trump and wouldn't give him a gaming license).
We've been to see Brad Garret's comedy show (Robert from everybody loves Raymond). Funny guy, god forbid you sit in the first 2 rows-you will get roasted!! Luckily we were in the third. There were three other comedians he hosted that night and if you ever get to see Eddie Ifft, Paul ogata or jay reed, make sure you go they are hilarious. Eddie Ifft had us both in tears and has jut come back from Australia.
The grand canyon blew our minds. It's just like looking at a perfect (gigantic) picture. We took a tour that flew us there, took us for a helicopter ride inside the canyon's south rim, gave us lunch and flew us back. 7 hours all up from pick up to drop off with an 08:30am start-kane was just ecstatic about that...
After our helicopter ride we stopped for an hour to look around at angels point. The views here were spectacular. You can also see ravens and squirrels here. We were warned about squirrels, they look cute in pictures but in real life they are aggressive and intrusive little b*****s that aren't scared of you, or to try to get in your bag and run under your feet as Chloe soon found out. Everyone, including kane, had a good laugh at Chloe's squeals with one persistent squirrel. They really are just big rats. Took some amazing pictures here, but forgot to take more on our phones so we could show you. You'll have to wait until we are back! The weather was perfect, we were told 18-22 but it felt warmer and was lovely and sunny.
We're just about to get into our togs and hang by the pool. Spewing we're not here for the weekend, the MGM host a big pool party in one of their pools and have big dj's from around the world come to play. Then later we're going to walk the strip again to take some night pictures. Tomorrow we're off to shop at the outlet malls.
Xoxo
