You are not going to believe this...but Amy was up by 6:45 am. Mentioned that already but it really is news! So, it was another quick jaunt into Yosemite and then it was on to the land of neon, gambling, hookers, and booze. But not before a brief stop (only a two hour drive into more mountains) at Sequoia National Park to drive thru a log. See video. We think it speaks for itself. Leaving Sequoia, Angie played like Mario Andretti and zoomed down the mountainous S curves...whilst a white knuckled Amy prayed to whatever god that would listen that Lou wouldn't plummet us to our deaths. Obviously, he didn't. After a lovely, overpriced meal at the scenic restaurant at the end of the Sequioa journey, it was on to Bakersfield, CA, where we stayed at a "charming" KOA campsite, conveniently located next to the highway. This was the site of the first casualty...Amy was "supposedly" stung by a stealth insect. Angie was not there to witness this "supposed" stinging...and strongly feels that the swollen finger was caused by water retention. Amy insists I add that I'm just kidding. She was quite traumatized and insisted we shake everything. The culprit was never found.
