hello everyone,
at the moment we are in botswana, it is very similar 2 namibia just a bit more green, not as much desert. since we last wrote a jnl we have done quite a lot so ill try and remember as much as i can.
we went quad biking in the desert and over the sand dunes which was really fun, they actually let us go fast unlike most places when u go on a tour. came back with orange faces from the sand though. we then went 2 a place called spitskoppe which is a bunch of rocky mountains in the middle of the desert and we climbed one, we then slept in a candle lit cave which was amazing. we have been on our first safari at etosha national park. we didnt see tht much though, only giraffe, zebra, springbok and wildebeast. we camped in a campsite in the middle of the park and stayed up till 1 watching the floodlit waterhole but no animals came while we were there, then in the morning we found out lions and rhinos were there at 2 which was a bit annoying. we got woken up buy lions roaring all through the night which was amazing, a bit scary though as there hav been sightings of the lions jumping the fences and gettuing into the camps.
we then went 2 the okovango delta which was really cool, we had to get these little raft type boats tht take 2 people plus the driver who has a massive stick and pushed us down the little river 4 2hours 2 get 2 our campsite which was an island in the middle of the delta. we then went on a game walk which was awsome, the guides were so good, we managed to find the tracks of zebra, wildebeast and elephant and track them down, we also were able 2 stand about 50 metres away from them. we had a lesson on wot 2 do if nethin charges at you so we felt a bit safer! it was wkd though.
and now we are in maun which is a small town in botswana.
happy birthday for the 13th ryan!
spk soon everyone xx
