when i first arrived in hervey bay i still had killer sunburn and as the sun was so strong i had to spend the first few days here indoors which was v.exciting!! the main reason i came to hervey bay was to go to fraser island (as the tours departed from here). fraser island is a sand island and the trip i did you travel around in a 4x4 and camp at night. For the trip you got put into a group of 10 or 11. my group was abit of a motley crew and we had such a good laugh! swimming in the pure water creeks and burning our 4x4 down the beach! The island is well known for its dingos - who one night came within metres of us before stealing a box of our alcohol!! ive never seen a group of guys turn into such girls as quickly as the guys in our group did when there were dingos about!! there are also suppose to be loads of spiders and snakes but luckily i didnt see any! x x
