After we did the great ocean road, which we didnt feel was that great, we decided to embark on some harvest picking. We headed inland and drove 7 hrs to a small town called Griffith, where we took the posts as onion pickers. We were out in a field in the blazing heat with about 20 Tongons who were battling with us for their pitches of onion patches - even though the field was the size of 3 football pitches! Thay even had the nerve to complain to the farmer that our onions were bigger than theirs!! As you can imagine this was too much excitement than we could handle so had to leave the field early as we had an appointment with the local pub. Unfortunately we could not hack our new careers and decided to stick to what we knew best. We stayed in Griffith for one week, and pottered about. We then headed back to Sydney as it was almost Christmas. We somehow managed to get lost and ended up in the centre of the city, and i mean the main central high street which was heaving with last minute christmas shoppers, when out of the blue this random lady stuck her head through the window and shouted "Lee", we both could not beleive our eyes, that there was Aunty Jay, at that very moment as we were stuck in traffic - spooky or what? When we eventually got over the shock, we booked into a north central campsite, near Chatswood, and did lots of shopping and were able to go into Sydney centre regularly as the trains are awesome. Chrsitams eve we met up with the family and had the most awesome day ever, in circular key with lots of beers and some good laffs. Jay and Mick kindly took us for dinner in a restaurant that looked over the harbour bridge which was lovely, and made a welcomed change from beans on toast! weve run out of time now so ill to finish this later ----to be continued..........
