After a few more weeks of work and Rugby I thought it was about time I ventured out of the southern Highlands to do something a little more exciting. What better thing to go and do than head down to the snow in Jindabyne It so happened that a group of the lads from Rugby wanted to come along too to make the whole trip a lot more enjoyable. After a disappointing loss on the saturday and a bus trip back from rugby followed by a night out in Bowral on the five of us set out for Jindabyne. The five of us Steve, Dave, Adam and Michael and of course me had a hugely enjoyable trip down which contained lots and lots of laughs which made time go by very quickly. Adam copped a lot of stick for the majority of the journey. Sorry mate. Before we knew it we had arrived and were picking up the keys for the house that we had rented for a few days. We had a great place just set back from lake Jindabyne.
Bright and early the next day 6:30 we got up had a quick breakfast and into the car for the quick drive up to the resort to get lift passes and on to the slopes. We headed up to the perisher resort which is the biggest in the region and probably the best. The snow was great the best snow they have had in ten years. All five of us chose to snowboard just so that we could all give ourselves a bit of a challenge. This turned out to be a great idea and after numerous failed attempts on previous trips I managed to master the art of snowboarding this time. The others took a little while to get to grips with it and spent a lot of time picking themselves up from the snow. The second day was much improved and everyone had got the hang of it. Another mate from Rugby lui and his girlfriend Brooke were also down at the snow so we skied a bit with them too. The resort is not as big as the resorts in europe but nonetheless it is great to be back out on the slopes and to tick another thing of the list of things to do whilst in Australia. We stayed up in Jindabyne for 3 nights and snowboarded for 2 full days. We had great plans to hit the town of an evening and this never happened as we all made the most of Steves home brew rum back at the house much more enjoyable and a lot cheaper. Nonetheless we all had a great time and before we all knew it we were making our way back to the southern highlands. On the return journey the tables had turned somewhat and Michael was now the focal point of the journey and he was taking a lot of stick from everyone in the car. Again sorry mate. I have the rest of the week off work to spend making a bit of an edit from the gopro footage of the few days. Then back to work and on the look out for harvest jobs I have nearly been in Australia for 9 months seems very scary how fast time has gone.
