Our Craziest journey so far has to be the 4 days we spent on buses from La Paz to Quito just so that we could pick up our GAP tour and then do it in reverse, but today comes a pretty close 2nd. We flew from Quito via Bogata in Columbia to get to Lima, check this out on the map, absolutely ridiculous!!, thanks for nothing STA.... To top the day even more, my little bro was getting married as I was circling south america, probably the only time I have really felt...

And better it got, being on the Galapagos was magical, like a dream.... the only thing that would have made my time more special would have been diving, however, the snorkelling was still amazing!!! On our first day in Quito all we manage is a sleep, a sit down in a cafe with a beer in the sun and a trip to the cinema to watch the new Harry Potter (which was excellent). The next day we manage some retail therapy in the markets, me and Sharon both now on the hunt for presents to take home, holdalls have even been purchased to aid us in this quest!! A brief stop here for a border crossing on our mammoth journey from La Paz to Quito by bus. On recommendation from The dutch couple, we head to Arequipa instead of direct to Lima:- 1) to break the journey2) as it supposed to be a beautiful city3) most importantly to avoid the dodgy Lima to Cusco road, not keen to repeat our La paz experience! After a day on the bus and a queue and walk across the border, that seems to take so long we think we are going to miss our connecting bus, we arrive with 2 new friends in tow, Kate and Chris.
