Date: 1st June 2011 Place: Sihanoukville Weather: Raining We arrived at Sihanoukville around 7am and we took a Tuk Ttuk to Monkey Republic which is a guesthouse we had heard about but it was full so we ended up going to a really posh place across the road, called Beach Road Hotel. It was lovely and we were right next to the pool, but for $20 a night, there we were again..flashpacking!! We slept until 1pm and then we went down to the beach to get some food. Whilst we were down there we were bombarded by some girls selling bracelets and manicures. They are so persistent and yell "$1 dollar $1 dollar" over here. They gave us a 'free' bracelet which they then used to make us feel bad later when they had followed us to where were having lunch so that we would buy a bracelet. We said no and eventually they left. When we got back we decided to go for a dip in the pool. We met a couple of guys, both called Joe, from Barnsley. They were really cool and told us of all their travelling stories. They even told us about the time they had eaten dog! After talking to them until we went wrinkly we went for a bit of a swim which didn't last long and then went in to get ready for dinner. In the end we decided not to have dinner because it hadn't been long since we had lunch so we just went over the road to monkey republic for a drink. The irish girls came with us and we bumped into Joe and Joe again. After one drink there we went to Utopia which is a really popular hostel and bar. We stayed there for a lot longer than I expected and I was absolutely shattered. We met a few new people and the bar man got us some free shots. We ended up going back at 3am and I had said I was only having a quiet night, I thought it was about 12 when we left. Date: 2nd June 2011 Place: Sihanoukville Weather: Sun/rain Woke up pretty late today since we had worn ourselves out so much the day before. Aoife came in and thought it was about 1pm but I think she had it wrong because after going to the beach and having lobster it was only 2.30pm. The lobster was great though, we had 10 pieces between us. On the way back we also got some fruit from a girl with it on her head and she cut it all up fresh for us. Once again we went back for a nap in the room and some more CSI,lol. We woke up a while later and were hungry again so went to a place called the noodle box which did noodles for $1. After having that we went for a dip in the pool and this time there were loads of guys jumping in head first, after thinking OMG how childish I then realised they were the guys from Gloucester! We decided to get showered and then went to have a bottle of wine with the girls. Tonight the plan was to find J Js bar because we had heard a lot about it but as soon as we left the hotel we went the wrong way. We ended up having pictures taken with some huge statue lions. Since we didn't know where J Js was we went back to utopia. It was such a great surprise when Sarah said theres your dutch guys. We got so excited and ran over and gave them all a massive cwtch! We stuck with them all night. After being in Utopia we went to J Js and had a dance. I then got carried home by Abel, who said I couldn'teven stand, oh jeese!
