Day 11 - Tuesday 8 September 2015
We had slept really late as it was quite noisy during the night. We lay in bed for a little while longer chatting and looking things up on the Internet.
By the time we left the house Jazz was pretty getting hangry (so hungry that she was getting angry).
She said she had a craving for Hungry Jacks so we went to Burger King to sooth her craving and hangryness. It took us a little while to walk there as it was quite a bit up the street but we found it. It was yummy but also gross, as fast food normally is.
After we ate we went to the tourist office to ask for some directions.
We had another day left on our hop on hop off tour but decided to just leave it because we were up the same way from where we got on the day before so would have to cover all of the same area again first before we got to where we wanted to go. We also didn't have heaps of time as it was early afternoon already and we had plans to meet my friend Cassie from school at 5pm.
We wanted to go to Park Guell so the guy at the tourist office said we had to catch the 24 bus and it would take us right there. We made our way to the stop and the bus came quite soon after.
When we got to the park it was quite busy. There was a line for tickets but that was only for a certain area. The ticketed area, which is where some of the Gaudi constructions were, wasn't letting more people in until 5.30pm. We couldn't stay until then so we just wandered around the rest of the park instead. We bought some cool little trinkets from some stalls that we could take home.
Once we were finished walking around and satisfied we'd taken enough photos we caught the 24 bus back to where we came from.
We were meeting Cassie out the front of the Apple Store near the Catalunya metro station at 5pm. We made it there just in time and she was there waiting for us. Cassie had read in a magazine about a cool area so Jazz looked it up on the map and directed us there. We found a nice looking bar and grabbed a table outside.
We ordered some drinks and later some food and sat there chatting and catching up for a few hours which was really nice. We traded lots of stories about our travels & plans.
Near where we were sitting this big group of young people formed and were cheering. Jazz went over to investigate and came back to tell us they were having a Spanish rap battle!
We Finished our food & drinks and then went wandering back the same way we had come to go to a T-shirt shop we had seen coming in. We all bought some cute shirts. Cassie had to leave because she was meeting back up with her family who she was travelling with at 8pm so we said our goodbyes.
Jazz & I both needed to use the bathroom so we dropped in at Hogans Bar (which was the Australian Bar that doesn't have anything Australian in it) and ordered some piña coladas.
We headed on our way again but weren't quite ready to go home so on the way back to our apartment stopped somewhere else for a drink. We sat at the bar and in front of us was a leg of Jamon and various types of cheese. We had come just for drinks but decided some Jamon, cheese & bread was a good idea too. The Jamon was amazing! We sat there for a little while drinking, eating & chatting until we felt like it was a more acceptable bed time.
