Spent the morning looking around Prescott, taking photos and buying souvenirs, then headed North towards the town of Williams on Route 66. Again more souvenir shopping and a refreshing cool espresso coffee waffle cone icecream and some more great photo ops!! Travelled onto Seligman and part of the 'old road 66' through Peach Springs, Hackberry and Kingman before turning North to Las Vegas, we just can't stay away. An early morning on the road to San Pablo, then hit the road for a drive through Yosemite National Park over Tioga Pass, a high elevation pass that usually opens around late May/June. Lucky for us, clearing was finished early this year and we were able to see another part of this magnificent National Park. Spent the night in Bishop.

On the road and heading to LA then make a side trip up to San Francisco and drop off all our extra shopping at the shippers. A long day driving leaving our favorite Vegas at 9am and arriving in Pleasanton just outside San Fran about 8pm. Mick had no problem keeping awake, sucking lollipops and battling the gale that was blowing up the highway.

After a bit of a sleep in we hit the pool deck for a couple of hours before checking out, then moved onto the tropical setting at South Point our destination for tonight. Lazed around by the pool all day swimming and relaxing with the temperature hovering between 100 - 110F. On the road to Palm Springs this morning after a 'parts stop' at Larry's Thunderbird. The difference in temperature from Anaheim to Palm Springs, only an hour and a half away was extreme (70 - 112F). A huge statue of Marilyn Munro was being erected, so stopped for a few photos and walk around town. The curbside restaurants have mister to keep the patrons cool, like in Vegas, glad to be back in the air conditioned car and on the road to Prescott in Arizona. Not mu...
