We arrived in Vordingborg, the ancient capital of Denmark, we know the town well as we waited out a storm here several years ago. Our trip across from Germany was quite slow as the wind was against us, the day was very hot. We both felt tired, we had a quick walk round visiting the church and super market, the town has the so called biggest motorcycle museum in Europe but we didn’t feel like a museum on such a hot day.

Darsser Ort is a refuge harbour only but approximately 10/12 yachts a night use it with out any problems. It lies at the top of a peninsula and is very beautiful, it’s only short comings are mosquitoes, millions of them at dusk. There are 2 beaches one close, one 3 kilometres walk through a nature reserve, this is where we were attacked by them. You can only stop for one night so we went out to anchor and stayed another night.

Zingst is only 7 NM from Barth across the lake but there was a lovely anchorage so after only 3 NM we anchored again, my idea was to have an easy day but I was feeling a lot better, so I set about cleaning the decks, followed by polishing them. Barth is about 15 NM down into an inland lake, as can be seen from the photo it has a massive Church That dominates the sky line. We had stopped on passage at an anchorage. Unfortunately I was feeling unwell, too much sun I think. We went into a box mooring and had a look around the town, mainly the church before I had an early night.
