At Horsham, Brad realised we had lost a bearing dust cover of one of the caravan tyres. The shops did not sell that size and the bearing place was shut. Camo spotted three wild emu's in a paddock. Crossing over the SA/Vic boarder at 12.40pm (Vic time) was very uneventful, however we noticed the better quality roads in SA, we were all sick of the uneven surfaced roads and the double bouncing then generated from the caravan. We stopped in Bordertown for lunch and realised we had lost another bearing cover (both of the front wheel covers are now gone, never had issues in all the previous trips we had done).
Upon our approach into Adelaide in the hilly section, the fuel light of the car came on, we had plenty of fuel. The manual, which had spent the last 2.5 years taking valuable space in the glove box and never been required had been recently moved into the back (now out of reach while driving). So we Goggled it. The fuel filter needed replacing. The exit we took of the freeway took us straight to a Repco - very unplanned. We had a spare, but decided to buy another seeing as we needed to use it so soon. We were able to secure one of the last available spots in a caravan park close by - Mount Baker Caravan, allocated a spot on the outskirts of the oval, a very nice spot, quiet and some trees for shade and room for the boys to stretch their legs.
Brad managed to replace the filter without any choice words!!! We then took a short drive into Hahndorf, lovely to see the old buildings and character, without a franchise store in sight (with the exception of an IGA on the corner).
As its Easter, we are going to have to stay put until Tuesday when the local bearing shops will reopen, fingers crossed they have in stock the size we are going to need. Again with the help of Google, we know there are at least 5 bearing suppliers within Adelaide, what did we ever do without Google?
Day 2,
The cleaver Easter Bunny managed to find the boys and spoil them with chocolates. Lachlan's big rabbit tried to escape off the table and smashed into a million pieces before the photo could be taken.
We ventured to the location of where Storm Boy the movie was filmed out along The Coorong and along the coast to Victor Harbour. Joy and Grahame - you can buy waterfront land here in the marina from $160,000, you could moor your yacht out the front.
Driving back through the McLaren Valley, wine growing country, Camo made the comment of the day "there are many wine trees here". Then he saw a kangaroo grazing in the wine trees. Still no luck finding our sized bearing covers.
