We didn't get up too early this morning as we didn't have a very long drive to do today to Lake Tekapo. Since we'd stayed overnight in a dump spot car park (which sounds awful but it was really nice and the views were awesome) we took advantage of getting a few campervan jobs done, water refill etc. Before setting off to Lake Tekapo we had a little place to visit, on the coast here at Timaru there is a place called Scarborough! We woke up this morning and looked out onto the beautiful view of the sea, mountains, boats and the sunshine. We made some breakfast and packed the bed away, we started looking at the maps as we still haven't really got an itinerary for this trip. There's so much we want to see and places we want to visit. It was really difficult to sleep last night, I reckon that was our coldest night yet seen as there was ice on the inside of all of the windows and even small icicles! Apparently it had dropped to -3c in the night, no wonder we were cold. We made a decision to go shopping for some more covers for when we sleep. We woke up absolutely freezing this morning and the rain had started again. We had decided to head off today, we are hoping to head south as that's the direction we originally wanted to go. We thought we'd make a stop at Hamner Springs on the way, which has a place full of thermal pools which should be fun.
