SYDNEY - THURSDAY 14 OCTOBER - SATURDAY 23 OCTOBER
To continue...before we landed we were tootling along on the old airbus plane when Jo had the genius idea of asking for a tour of the plane. The airhostess/hostmen were really friendly and chatty with a well guided tour. We even got to go upstairs...on a plane!! Through Economy plus, Business and First Class - we have come to the conclusion we really are First Class ladies - we were told not to bother to work but marry rich men haha!!
Oh plus we got given the goodie bags the 'business class' get given - Plus a BIGGER toblerone than you get in economy! Oh yes we are sooo easy bought.
Conclusion of that idea - Totally. Awesome. !!
Ok so when we arrived in oz and dived on the shuttle bus to the hostel - the weather was...dull (and dark obv @ like 10pm) and quite chilly. Quite a contrast to Singapore for sure. The hostel we arrived at was crud. Bedding wasnt made and we were placed with irritating randoms - one in which Jo wanted to punch on the nose haha!! It was basically a really bad 18-30s holiday and we didnt pay god knows amounts or travel that far for something we could get in Spain! The following day was also followed by really rude people (when trying to set up accounts etc) so it was slightly like we had just popped down to london (including the weather which was pretty dull.) - Again Alex had to take Jo out of the bank before she bopped the bank man on the nose too. Haha - what a funny day!
Anyways conclusion is after a night of rearranging we got the hell outta there and found a hostel we liked - which we stayed at till today (Sat - fly day) We were even informed the hostel was so new that we were the first to sleep in the beds - and boy did we sleep zzz!!
At around day 2/3 the weather majorly improved and we headed down to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Hell yeah - we were in Sydney baby standing in front of the Opera House!!! - Crazy!!!
To give you a brief outline of our 9 nights in Sydney - Our trips around Sydney have included a climb up the bridge tower, the view was AMAZING and we wandered around the markets at The Rocks, we popped down to Darling Harbour and were entertained by Street acts, we had lunch by the docks being serenaded by a saxophonist, we did the Coogee to Bondi beach walk which was lush - we found a place we loved called Bronte beach which was between the two. We also became well acquainted with George Street - (Jo's favourite - not!), we found an Essex street!! We went over to Manly and had a picnic, Alex became a bit dog obsessed there - think because it was full of tiny ones - including a cat in a bag?? Wonders never cease...!!! We had coffee at various places Gloria Jean's was our favourite as we got free mags - we really were ladies who lunched!! We had various meals at our favourite City Extra - we really are creatures of comfort. Finally though had to be our favourite spot which was by the Botanical Gardens and had a view over the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. On a lovely sunny day it was sooo pretty - plus we had many a good nap there!! (We needed the nap after how much walking we had been doing! - Plus helped with the tanning!)
Now we are concluding Sydney - without the Blue Mountains & Bridge climb as you may have noticed but as we are likely to be back to Sydney at least 1 more time we have left that for something to do then!
We are booked now on a Virgin Blue flight to Cairns were we have booked into a Sharehouse. Very excited but don't want to jinx it so we will keep you posted :)

Kerton OMG, you've been to Sydney and left already!!! I can't believe it's Jo who's been losing it with everyone and Alex is keeping her cool; not the girlies I thought I knew. I've heard lots of good things about Cairns so keep updating the blog so I know whether they're all true and it's worth visiting. Bye for now xxxxxxx
Jenny B Loving reading about all your antics! Loved the bondi to coogee walk- we underestimated how long it took and came back in the dark, ha. Good to hear you've got a house share, hope you meet some nice people. Make sure you head up north of cairns to see the crocs, the rainforest and the lush beaches around port Douglas. Keep us updated. Lots of love xxx
