If you've been reading these posts you might recall I had my closest thing to a religious experience at the vatican. Scrap that. I'm in awe of Disney World. People say its big, so I let myself imagine 2 Dreamworlds, forget it. Disney World is 121km2, thats the size of San Francisco!
Everything in this city is done well, its' like being in switzerlands version of well planned and ordered fun. You probzbly know the statue of Walt holding hands with Mickey at the foot of the Castle's, that could be my new alter. False idols and blah blah.
We found out today that it is Spring Break across the US. What we thought was normal crowds are actually swollen by everyone rushing the end of their break. Take a look at the photos of the crowds - probably the annual attendance of Gold Coast Seaworld here today. Our longest queue was 45 minutes, we rode things solid all day - this is an impressively engineered city.
Disney even controls the weather here - It was over 30c for most of the day, picture perfect clear skies all along. We were at Magic Kingdom until the last show at 11:30, back in the hotel just after 12. All of us were fried, but no one wanted to leave, its open until 1am at the moment!
Highlights of the day were watching Emerson see the princesses all parade past, her eyes light up as Tinkerbell flew away from the castle, and Max's post ride rush rantings. After any ride that was a little thrilling he'd get off and start telling everyone in the queue all about it, telling them "IT WAS AWESOME, AWESOME I TELL YOU!"
My highlight though had to be the Castle light shows. They don't "light" the castle anymore, they project on to it, and the effect and creativity they've put into this is inspiring. Throughout the project they use photos and videos that they've shot throughout the park on the day. Imagine you're kids face when they see it blown up on the castle? The day ends with the Tinkerbell flight and the fireworks. As a Sydneysider I carry a sophisticated non-plussed attitude to fireworks, until this show. I sat in dumbstruck wonder for most of it. If I had 40 years to hone and perfect a 1hr show like this I'd like to think I'd get close to what we experienced today, but I doubt it. Well done!

Helen Aurisch So glad you are having so much fun! Emerson must have been gobsmacked with the princesses and Tinkerbell (she is my favourite). We will have to organise a Skype with Emerson for her birthday. Keep having a ball. xo
Helen Aurisch Whoops, guess what I forgot, HAPPY EASTER TO OUR GORGEOUS, TRAVELLING FAMILY! It is Good Friday here but don't know if it is even celebrated at the same time in Florida. No chocolate in all that heat, just filled with FUN. xo
