Capt. Cook Memorial
Capt. Cook landed on Norfolk in 1774 - he named it Norfolk after the Duchess of Norfolk - he thought it was worth settling - the pine trees could be masts and flax could make rope and weave in to garments - neither was suitable. However first settlement arrived in 1788
