Hello everybody!
It's been a few days since I did one of these and I'm now in Kuala Lumpur!
It was a horrendous journey here! We were leaving Krabi very early so We had to wake up at 5.30 and get all of our stuff ready! We were out of the door and ready by 6.15.
We checked out and then at about 6.245 in rolls a tiny mini bus. Usually these are free transfers to the big coaches. The station is never usually more than 20 mins away. But... this tiny mini bus wasn't going to a bigger one, it was our ride down! In a mini bus the two seats right at the back on the right have zero leg room. The seats in front are blocked off by something metal. We somehow ended up in these seats. The two tallest people on the bus, in the worst possible seats. Great. I was having a terrible time with cramped feet and aching legs so I really felt for Tom with his size 13 feet!!!
Thankfully we only had a five hour journey of torture before we got to change buses!
We went from one extreme to the other, this bus was absolute luxury!! It was like being on first class in an airplane (not that I've ever flown first class!) there was so much space in these seats we didn't know what to do with it! So that journey was about 10 hours in total which was a breeze as we were so comfy!
Only thing was, when we got out at the bus station, one of my bags straps had been ripped in the hold. Really annoying but luckily it's not one of the main ones.
We were so tired and bored we just wanted to get to our hostel. We finally got there and were bitterly disappointed... It was tiny! Just two beds with a paper thin mattress crammed into a tiny room! It's the worst place yet and there are shared bathrooms but we have to get used to it for Australia!! It's clean and a place to crash so not too bad I suppose!
Yesterday we did a big tour of KL and checked out all the big attractions, Petronas towers etc. (they are the tallest twin towers in the world) we also went to a few shopping centres as well. I had to buy some more headphones as mine snapped when they got caught in my chair :( even electronics are much cheaper here. I got some really nice sony over ear ones for 30 quid. They would have retailed for a least double that in England.
Last night we also had a big night out in Kuala Lumpar! Brilliant fun! We can now say we had nights out in two major Asian cities! Bangkok and KL! It was pretty cool. We went to a restaurant for dinner then went to a few bars/ clubs and just lived the dream!!
Sorry not to have blogged in a while but this should make up for it!
