Billy and Bekah's Adventure!!
So I come to the library to tie our trip up and this stupid machine will not let me put United States as my current area. Odd, huh? Well that is where we are if you all have not figured that out by now. We have finally settled in St. Augustine and we are loving it. Once we arrived home, we got so caught up with seeing our families and friends and realizing we did not have to post our current location, I kind of forgot we had this web site!
Well the last couple of days in Europe were nice. Mainly nice because we knew we would be home within the next 72 hours or so. We arrived back in Rome on the 25th from our ferry from Greece.
Greece was just plain amazing. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back later in the future and visit. The people there are so friendly and extremely helpful. It was beautiful.
When we arrived back in Rome it was pouring rain and lightening. Not very fun at 10 oclock at night. We ended up finally reaching our hotel by taxi by almost midnight. It was a beautiful hotel with an amazing breakfast. The next morning we hopped on a metro and bus to our last hotel in Rome. We did some grocery shopping there and just relaxed. Nothing too exciting. And then following day, on the 27th, we flew to Dublin!
We arrived, got a taxi to the hotel, and went into town since we had yet to visit any of Dublin. Dublin is a little but crazier and busier than most Irleand cities. We found a pub that had trad music during the day so that was nice. We stopped in for our last dosage of real music because we figured we wouldnt last till 930PM when most of the other places starting playing. We stopped by the Trinity College, had a small visit there, and then decided to just head back to the hotel for the night and had dinner at the hotel.
On the 28th we flew from Dublin to JFK, got delayed at JFK for a couple hrs and finally ended up in Orlando at about 8:30 PM. My parents were there waiting for us! I was great to see them and be back in America!
Overall, our time spent overseas was just amazing. We truly cannot put into words all the sites, smells, experiences, and adventures we went through. We could not be more thankful for our families being so supportive while we were over there and helping us out on getting back home! Everyone keeps asking us what was our favorite country but we really cannot pick one. We just know what particular areas we would love to go back and visit one day. Again, we are so happy we got to experience this trip and see what some people cannot see in a lifetime. Pretty crazy if ya think about it.
We are so happy to be back home. We love, love, love St. Augustine and we cannot believe we LIVE here. Every day Billy and I go for a swim down on the beach after work, it is like our own swimming pool a couple blocks away!
Billy has been a little bit busier than I have since we got here on Monday. The day we arrived he went to look for jobs and was hired instantly at a bar and grill on our street called Mango Mango's. It's a nice, small restaurant with a HUGE menu of all types of carribean and hawaiin type dishes. This is the only Mango Mango's around but the owners and managers are a couple months away from breaking ground in a couple other locations to build more Mango Mango's and start franchising to eventually become and multi million doller company in 3-5 years.
Basically all these guys have kitchen and restaurant experience, but no corporate background. This is where Billy comes in. Since he has been with Joe's for 2 plus years that is all he knows, corporate ways and policies. According to Mango Mango's, "Billy is their missing link, he is just what they needed!!" Great, huh? Well they started him off just in the kitchen, but 2 days ago (after only being there 2 days), offered him the AM kitchen manager position with a heft pay increase. This means he goes in between 7 and 8 in the morning and is done by 3 or 4. He gets to eat free and 2 free beers and the end of each shift! The AM schedule will work perfectly with his school schedule so he couldn't be more excited about this place. He is thrilled to be on the "ground floor" of this restaurant that is about to take off.
I just got a job yesterday with the Casa Monica. I will be starting as a front desk agent, really only because they do not have any other positions available at this moment. I just took it as my opportunity to get my foot in the door and move my way up the ladder as something comes available over the next couple months. This also gives me a chance to learn about the property and area so that hopefully I will be able to join their sales team soon. I love the people that work there, they all really know how to run a hotel (unlike other places I have been), and seem really level headed and sincere. I am very excited and I start Monday.
So in a nutshell, life is awesome here in St. Augustine. Excited about planning the wedding and I am still showing my ring off everywhere! We cannot wait to have some visitors soon! My mom has already visited and loves it so much she wants a house up here too! I wonder how many people we will have moved by December! HAHA. Well take care everyone and thanks for sticking with us through our travels. We are glad you enjoyed the trip as much as we did! Please keep in touch! I am sure I will be sending out updates through emails on jobs, wedding, etc! My email is [email protected]!! And Billy's is [email protected]
Love you!!!
