having just uploaded a series of pictures onto facebook i thought it might be an idea to do another blog!,

well, ive been ion the big NZ for a week and three days and already soo much had happened, my journey to 'the land of the big white cloud', started off with a scenic flight over nz's southern alps... one of the most fantastic views ever ( with a great breakfast and cup of tea on the plane!)
having landed in christchurch - bus'd it into the centre - and checked into a decent hostel, i wandered around the town..stopping of at subway and purchasing a much need wooly hat!... i then got a free shuttle to a mahusive supermarket and stoked up on mushrooms, bread, noodles and pasta... the basics!...that evening i cooked up a feast had a cup of tea and sat down on the computer to email max ( who had flown into aukland the same day)... then i felt a jab in my ribs and was ready to kick off! (jokes).. turned around and it was maximus!, he arrived at aukland pissed off as his flight was delayed so went straight up to a qantas desk and asked when the next flight to christchurch was! , that night was a quiet one after the carnage in OZ we definatly needed it!
the next day we booked ourselves onto the kiwi experience to start on the 12th!..then went on a city walk ... as there is b***** all to do in christchurch.. we then went to stock up on beer and baileys and returned to the hostel!, walked in and we saw ross! ( i guy we drank with in sydney), so that night we caught up and had a good crack, also found out ross is off to sheff in september ..sweeet.
here comes the 12th of june not one of our finest mornings!
woke up at 7.40, our bus left at 7.20! woooops, alarm didnt go off due to dead camera battery! b******s!, so we went for a subway ..as you do to cheer yourself up ..then max wet himself ..as a famous wrestler walked in! (the edge?!?!) wwe were in christchurch that night and 'the edge' needed his double turkey and salami footlong! haaa, so suddenly max was saying that it was ment to be and that it was destiny that we had missed the bus!!..that day we chilled out and went to a greyhound race where we had heard there was free tea! so in true backpacker style we rinsed it ..about 5 cups to be precise!...
the day after we finally set off on our green kiwi bus! which has a variety of names that are not repeatable on this blog! kaikoura was our destination wherewe had gormet burgers cooked by our driver..saw stinking seals..(max got charged at by one!)...then drank some of new zealands fine beverages!...the next day we were off to picton!,
(knowbody else stays at picton ..except me and max ..as we had missed our bus we had to stay either another 3 nights in christchurch or 2 nights in picton..we went for the later and had the most amazing picton experience!)
our hostel was a mear 8 quid a night ..with a pool, movie room ( we watched 5 in two days!)... free tea and coffee!..free breckfast, wow it was imense , we played a competitive game of mini golf...stroled around ..visited some hunnies in the local supermarket on a regular basis..and generally had a wiked time..doing something that not all travellers on the kiwi bus do!, i also went into subway where i asked for 3 oatmeal and raisen cookies ..they had none ...but they cooked some for me within 20 mins!...wow,
n e way on the 16th we had to leave the lovely picton!..we got on a bus and headed to nelson! where we walked up a mahuuuuuuuusive hill to 'the center' of newzealand....a load of us from the bus watched the sunset.. and enjoyed a dam good view... that night i had 15 hours sleep... in preparation for a round of golf (18 holes , 9 beers each)... we got up ate some toast and hitched to the course! , beers in bags..game faces on..ha, it was an epic day managing to get around 9 holes in 3 hours! o dear , great fun tho ..the scores wer not added up due to our golfing skills!... that night we did some beer tasting in our hostel with the bus and then had a night of playing cards.
the next day our destination was westport, on the way we visited a fantabulous lake..where we ate salami sandwiches..and enjoyed the view! a few other remote stop offs included a dam good pie and brillaint scenery ( pics on facebook!),
that night we all had some quiet beers and played killer pool! the next day was a day of preparing for the nights antics! it was the night of the 'poo pub' fancy dress party!, the theme was crime ..s o my superman costume and max power ranger costume was definatly going to come in handy!...having bought a bottle of voddy and 2 cokes we were prepared ... then the bus driver said ..we just have to pick up 5 people who have come from christchurch..( me and max look at each other ...both thinking it was going to be amy and lucy from sydney...so i bet a loaf of bread that it is)...we pull up ...and there they are!..so we caught up and exchanged stories..the banter was endless ..great gals!, n e way they got costumes prepared and the bus all hit the beach for a game of football / drinking!,
a massive meal was prepared for us (steaks, stews, veg!, roast tatties!)... after lining our stomachs we then destroyed the lining... having a great night in the pub all 30ish of us dressed up and seshed up!, great times
the day after was perfect ...stopping off at a bar that did full breckfasts!... we then continued our epic journey around the south island to a town called franz josef ( where i am now) , me and max did kayaking on lake mapourika.. and on a winding river through a rainforest! dam good fun.. and luckily didnt fall in! it was cold enough above the surface!, last night after kayaking we checked in had a $10 meal and jumped straight into a huge hot tub they had there!... after a good hour of warming up . me max lucy and amy and 2 drunk hill-billy's played cards in the bar!,

so that is the news, off to wanaka tommorrow then queentown for skiing and other extreme activities!,
love getting all the emails / comments / messages ...i really mean it!
think im going to relax in the hotub until the crew get back from ice climbing!
