It was this juncture where things went a little bit pear-shaped. You see, I knew there was a track up to the summit of Mt Doom. I knew it was listed as a 3-hour return journey. I knew from Joke's previous visit that it can take over 4 hours. I didn't even have 3 hours. But then when was I ever going to come back here. My mind was made up. I was about to see what those Hobbits were fussing about. I was going to climb Mt Doom!
