Back in the old days, ships were desperate were for crew and would take any means necessary to ensure they had enough men for the voyage. This pub was notorious for spiking sailors' drinks so that that they would pass out in order that they could be sold to the highest bidder. Means of transportation from the pub to their new crew was by wheelbarrow.
