Well here I am on the plane to bankok with 9 hours to kill. The first chapter of my adventure has finally begun! Well, to be honest it started 6 months ago when I began putting dreams into an actual itinerary bit now that I realise this is actually happening the reality of travelling alone to a foreign, non English speaking country has dawned on me- my absolute lack of excitement or apprehension about this trip has been compensated for by a sudden sensation of anxiety and maybe even a slight hint of doubt. Am I mentally equipped to travel solo? Will the kiwi mentality, naivety and overall trust that we are know and loved for make me a prime target for disaster?

Well one thing is for sure - despite any doubt or fear I have - the 36 degree climate that waits for me is a far cry from the relentless snow,ice and rain I am leaving behind. At least I am sure about one thing, a month in the sunshine of Thailand sounds Vastly more appealing then the coldest, wettest winter I canremember at home ✌
