This pic doesn't do it justice, but Lake Taupo sits in a caldera, a large basin formed after the explosion of a volcano. With deep, dark blue waters, green-fringed edges, a small town, and volcanoes in the distance, Taupo is considered one of the best places to skydive in New Zealand, after the Wanaka/Queenstown area.
