Inside this chamber, worshippers used to bang their chest while standing against the wall, so the sound and a prayer would reach the heavens. We tried it out, and it worked. If we stood anywhere else, and if we made any other sound, it didn't reverberate. But if we struck our chest and kept our backs to the wall, the whole chamber filled with sound.
