Vang Vieng Monday 8th October We got up early ready to get on the VIP bus, we got a free transfer to the bus station and the tuk tuk was actually on time. That is definitely a first in Asia. Luang Prabang, Laos After a long but not restful night we got ready for the day ahead. It was glorious outside so we wanted to make the most of it. We wandered along the main road in the 'Historic Town' which was beautiful, a very European edge to it but maintaining its Eastern charm. After the Border crossing we all got ushered to a shop where we waited for our bus to the slow boat, now one thing to remember is that in Asia a lot of people lie to you or try and scam you. For example the guy in the shop made us all sign up for accommodation there as he said there aren't many and as the boat was full we would find it hard to get somewhere. So we got picked up from Chiang Mai in a 12 seater minivan. Me and Matt got the best seats in the house next to the driver.
