Hi all, we have survived so far the interesting experience of Hanoi!! Walking out of the airport the humidity hit us, was in the 30 degress with what I would call 100% humidity. After taxiing to the hotel with the constant noise of horn honking we finally decided to hit the streets. This was chaos scooters and cars going in all directions, no stopping at the intersections just negotiating their way through. Don;t know which form of transport is safest, car, scooter or walking!!! Buy the second day we had gathered the idea of road crossing just walk and let the scooters move around you!!

We have seen some interesting sights from the busy old quater to the huge houses of french colonial time, huge presential palace, secluded temples and today we saw all the flashy hotels in the government area.

Today has been a bit cooler with some rain, we are heading off to Sapa tonight on the overnight train - we have a sleeper cabin so hopefully get some shut eye. Sapa is up north not far from the boarder to china, we are spending a couple of days there before we head back down past Hanoi to Halong bay where we do a boat trip.

Anyway hope all is well with everyone and we will update this again soon hopefully with some photos. Ben's cell phone is working and mine appears not to be so I won't receive any texts!!
