Hey guys! Ok so got quite a bit to write as not been on much lately! On Thursday we left Taupo (spelt it wrong last time!) and on the way we drove round Lake Taupo and then we drove round the Tongariro Crossing (the snowcapped mountains) via the volcanic expressway which was a really good drive with great views. We headed to Napier. On the way we ended up on an unsealed road which lasted 27km. It was basically a gravel road and meant we couldn't go above 40kmph so it took over an hour to do that one bit of road which wasn't good! Was very tedious! In Napier we checked into a motel, it was pretty cheap so we were able to get a twin room (even had electric blankets!). That night we looked round Napier, its a little fishing town and our motel was right on the seafront. On Friday we drove to Wellington via Palmerston North. We stoped there for lunch and had a look round the shopping centre. On Saturday we looked round the shops in Wellington and went on the cable car and had lots of tea in a little tearoom that was there. That evening we went to the bar in our hostel and watched the All Blacks play the Wallabies in the rugby which was a good night. Today we went to Island and Lyall Bay and to Mount Victoria to lookout over the city. We then got the ferry at 1pm to the south island. We are now in Pickton for the night. Its a very small town but we couldn't move on as got here when it was dark so decided to stay for the night. Tomorrow we will have a look round and go to Nelson. Then in the week we go to Frans Josep and Foz Glaciers and Queenstown. Hope you are all ok. Take care xxxx
