1770
So a one night stop in the town of 1770 was next. I knew nothing about this town but we had to stop over there with OZ bus.
DAY 1:
Got up nicely hungover from Karaoke antics & went to the bus stop. Said a final goodbye to Haydn as we wouldn't see him again...emotional! Jane & Logan were on our bus so it was good to see them again. On the bus Jane switched their plans so that they'd travel with me & Dan for the next 3 days which was cool. Me & Jane shared tunes on the journey & danced in our seats practically the whole way. We got asked on the bus if we wanted to do an activity called Scooteroo which we all signed up for. We had to rush over to do it as soon as we arrived in 1770.
I thought it was some tame scooter riding thing, but I was wrong! As soon as we got there we were given helmets, leather jackets & tattoos. We all got to pick a scooter which had been modified to look like a Harley Davidson bike! The whole crew (about 30 people) was going to hit the road & cruise round town on these bad boys. So exciting!
We all had to do a couple of practice laps round the Scooteroo track to get used to the bikes & to check we were safe for the road. Oh My God...cue the daily embarrassment episode. I was gutted to find that my scooter driving was in fact what can only be described as w***! I kept leaning round the corners. I just couldn't help it! They deemed me unroadworthy. Will I ever get over that?! Not likely. Turns out though, that it was awesome I was s***. I was named a Koala & had to sit on the back of a bad ass motorbike with the lead driver who just happened to be a cute 25 year old called James from........wait for it.......Dublin!!! Can you say 'jackpot'?! Well I can & I hit it. James was flying past everyone, doing tricks, making me do tricks on the back & whizzing me round corners at 130kph! It was AWESOME! I got to watch everyone else too. Logan was concentrating mega hard, Dan was an upright easy rider & Jane was cruising until she got pulled off her bike for leaning too!
We stopped for wedges & watched the sunrise on the bay. It was beautiful. I let Jane ride home with James so she could go on the fast bike & I cruised home with Jesse, a lovely Aussie fella. It was just a brilliant experience & an awesome day! Rest of the day was quiet. We were all knackered & after a bite to eat, all conked out. We had to get up early the next say for our next trip on the bus to Kroombit Cattle Station.
All I can say is...I want an Irish boyfriend with a motorcycle :o)
