Beccy's Travel Journal
We are now in Queenstown which is a tiny bit bigger than all the other hamlets we've stropped in so far and has loads of bars aimed at tourists so we may have got a bit over excited about the fact there was a night life and over did it night before last. a bar called the world does cocktails in a teapot which sounded very civilised and english but that tea was very strong and made me fall over a lot! managed to just about recover for my horse ride through lord of the rings country yesterday which was brilliant cos the guide trusted i could ride and let me go off. she just said stop when u cant work out where the path goes or when u hit a river. so i spent 2 hours bombing around on an ex-racehorse called ben. sadly he wasnt one of their 10 horses that had been in the 3rd rings film but i still felt like i was in the film a bit. today julie and i went for another snowboarding lesson, but it was a bit more like windsurfing on ice today. the winds were so strong everytime we stood up they'd just push us down the mountain and toward huge patches of ice, at which we'd squeel, fall over and get pushed the rest of the way on our bums/knees/faces, until the wind died down! also ice is very hard to fall on. we both have huge lumps on our knees now. ouch. no more snowboarding for us thank you!but the mulled wine was very good!
daddy whats ur new hobby?! and i dont think u and mother would like it here, u would be too affraid to do any of the activites. but we did see a 70 something year old do a bungee jump the other day, so u would be allowed, ur only a little older than that.
